Test Drive Unlimited 2: The Racing Game Where You Can Also Sit In A Jacuzzi
There's a lot to get excited about in Test Drive Unlimited 2, Atari's upcoming open world racer -- and when I say a lot, I most definitely mean it. The first entry in the Test Drive Unlimited series was already a huge game, with the entire Hawaiian island of O'ahu to explore and over 100 real world cars to get behind the wheel of, but it's looking like the sequel is going to be even more ambitious.
Test Drive Unlimited 2's primary setting is the Spanish island of Ibiza, known for its nightclubs and electronic music scene. This time though, as well as the paved roads you have at your disposal to race around on, you can go off the beaten path per se and cruise down the countless dirt roads that litter the island. The developerss are using satellite data as the basis for the layout of the island's topography and road system; though what I saw of the environments looked varied so it's not just palm trees and Mediterranean villas. Also new to the sequel are day and night cycles and weather changes that will affect the way your car handles.
